Professional Supervision for Counsellors

Using supervision to improve counsellor skills, client conceptualization, and ethical frameworks, Jennifer works to help build your practice and client skills. Jennifer is especially passionate about helping counsellors learn clinical competence with the queer community as well as other cultural competencies. She is relationship focused and works through the lens of family systems & family dynamics. She is trauma informed and also an accredited practitioner for EMDR.

Jennifer works with Supervisee’s providing the framework as well as interventions for understanding family history impact on individual clients. And excels in supervision for those working with couples.

Jennifer understands that along with theoretical frameworks, you benefit from actual hands on techniques and interventions. Jennifer is well trained in timelines and genograms and can help incorporate new interventions into your practice.

Trauma Informed Clinical Supervisionâ–º

Supervision from a trauma informed supervisor can be a game changer.

You benefit by learning tools and techniques for working with trauma, learning to resource your clients as well as increase skills to explore client trauma in way that is appropriate for their own pace and history.

You can also Increase your confidence in working with partner domestic violence. She’ll help walk you through this process.

Jennifer is an EMDR Accredited Practitioner and has worked with hundreds of EMDR cases. She will be able to provide tips and tricks to help with your EMDR success.

Supervision from a Social Justice Perspectiveâ–º

Jennifer is queer identified and works from a Social Justice perspective.

Working from Feminist Theory, being a Social Justice Advocate as well as trauma informed counsellor adds a unique perspective on helping supervisee’s understand and see blind spots and attend to client needs more openly.

Jennifer welcomes all experiences and gently guides you to frameworks helping change perspectives or stuck-ness.

She is especially fond of working with minority businesses and will work hard to help yours succeed.

Being ethically driven, Jennifer will help you frame cases for risk averse ethical and legal best practice outcomes.

If you are interested in the nuts and bolts of case notes, treatment plans, and mandated reporting, Jennifer makes sure these conversations are a part of every supervision discussion.

She is also happy to walk you through boundary discussions and help you make good decisions that support a healthy practice.
